A variety of infection risks are associated with an improperly cleaned bottle. There are also compliancy issues when the manufacturer's guidelines or agency recommendations are not followed.
What is the cost per patient?
A. The Endo SmartCap sells for $15.95 each and is used for a 24-hour period. With a schedule of 8 patients in a room each day, the cost is less than $2.00 per patient. If you consider the cost savings of not reprocessing reusable water bottles or purchasing new ones ($135.00 or higher), your actual cost could be even lower.
How do I clean and reprocess the 140-adapter (100140)?

You can sterilize it in a Steris ® unit, steam autoclave, or leave it attached and reprocess it with the scope.
Can I use any brand of sterile water?
A. The Endo SmartCap is universal; it will fit any brand of sterile water (500 or 1000cc).

How does it connect to the processor?

The holder for the Endo SmartCap (100170) has a metal clip that slips into the slot on the Fujinon or Olympus cart or processor. We also have special mounting slots for the Pentax or carts with no receiving slots attached.
How do I flush excess water out of the PENTAX® scope with the Endo SmartCap™ system?

We can supply you with a spherical Pentax® air-feed tubing that will allow you to flush the excess water.
